A Little Trip Into The City

Ugh, paperwork!

School has only been back for a few weeks and I am drowning in paperwork.  Just this morning  I signed 2 permission slips, and internet use slip and permission for my older one to try out for a school play (They need permission for that), update the school information and fill out an information card (people it's the same as last year, can't ya just keep it?).  I then spent 2 hours putting dates in calendars, going through the 5 hound outs I received at the high school grade level information night,  and sorting through the crap in my purse.  I so want to read the paper but that is something else I will have to put into a place, move several times, never actually read it and then throw it out.  Why can't the world run by text?

My Science Experiment

My 13 year old is blowing me away at the moment.  I know, I have all the teenage angst ahead of us, but at the moment my little science experiment is pretty awesome.  Evidently she is the only 13 year old in the known universe not to have Facebook.  She can wait until she's a little more cooked before we go there.  We did open up an instagram account for her and she is loving it ("sort of like Facebook for photos" she thought and I thought "sort of like Facebook without the bullshit").  She loves posting photos of her world and things she loves.  She's got a pretty good eye and it's great sitting back and watching her tastes evolve.  The other day we went for a walk and this beautiful amazon held my hand the  entire time.  I can't wrap her up in my arms as tightly as I once did, but the hand holding thing still works just fine.  I love sharing twisted humour with her, talking about the world with her and finding out what makes her tick.  I think she's pretty cool (also her bed was made this morning and that was fricking awesome).

A New Start

I played around with a blog last year...
I started a brownie business last year...
I chased kids around and did the basketball mom thing last year...
I lost track of my self, my health and my organisation last year...

This year I'm going to work on a few things and this little baby is one of them.  I love taking pictures with my iPhone so I'm sure there will be photos of what makes me smile (get ready for food, kid, and dog shots).  I know nothing about how to fancy this blog up, sorry.  It's going to be simple.

A lifetime ago I moved across the world for love.  I now have two girls, one in grade school and one in high school.  There were so many things I wanted to accomplish just for me and maybe it's not too late to get there.
